I grew up in the Harrisburg area. When I moved to Carlisle in 2004, I quickly found myself welcomed into the hearts, homes, and lives of many I met. Because of many of those individuals, I was able to find inspiration for who I wanted to be as an adult. Carlisle is such a melting pot – from individuals and families who come from all around the world, either for the War College, ballet, Dickinson, and even the car shows. The diversity is amazing – from extremely successful people who continue to put their money back into this community to help it grow, to the organic hipsters who keep Carlisle fresh with home grown, homemade goods. I feel Carlisle offers amazing help and support to those who need a place to sleep, a hot meal, employment, or a clean outfit. We are only a few hours away from a day trip into many different cities, and only minutes from being surrounded by mother nature herself, unless you like staying local to involve yourself in the many events or organizations the downtown offers. Carlisle is a beautiful place to raise a family and build friendships that last a lifetime. – Kush (left), K&K Snips⠀
Carlisle has always been my home, born and raised. As a teenager, I couldn’t wait to leave town. Becoming an adult, starting my career and my own family, quickly changed my mind. I realized this is home. Home is where the heart is. Now having a small business of my own it feels wonderful having the support of local people. Take a stroll through downtown Carlisle, the homey feel of the locally-owned shops and restaurants will pull you in. Carlisle takes pride in keeping our town clean. It says it all that families from the War College choose to stay and retire in our little town. -Kathy (right), K&K Snips⠀
